Astin Home Care 40-Hour Personal Care Aide Training Program!

Astin Home Care Agency has been approved by the Georgia Department of Community Health to provide a 40-hour personal care aide training program.

PCAs (Personal Care Aides), also known as caregivers, provide essential services that enable seniors and persons with physical and cognitive disabilities to stay in their homes safely, thus avoiding or delaying institutionalization.

Our 40- Hour Personal Care Aide Training Program provides professional training to individuals that have a passion to help others with their daily tasks.

An untrained caregiver lacks adequate skills and knowledge to provide a quality service, and this eventually results in dissatisfied clients.

When it comes to safety matters, experts believe there is an increased risk of both the caregiver and care recipient suffering serious calamities when the caregiver lacks proper training. This is usually a result of a lack of knowledge, especially when it comes to handling the transfer needs of the care recipient.

On the other hand, a well-trained caregiver is well equipped to handle different situations easily and more efficiently, especially when it comes to emergency situations. They can recognize the onset of an emergency, such as a heart attack, stroke, and others, and act quickly to save the care recipient’s life.

Our Training Approach

We have incorporated a mixture of classroom and hands-on training methods to deliver our personal care aide training. Course participants have different learning styles and capabilities, and it can be difficult to identify a “one-size-fits-all” method.

However, we believe most people, if not all, can learn well by watching or doing, or both. By combining classroom and hands-on training, we believe we can increase retention rates in all our course participants.
